Hello there, I am Ava
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in New York, United States.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Relocating to United States wasn't part of the long-range plan. Like many international moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The first months were intense — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should.
The Adaptive Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Created CoveHarborTrail
Most information online was either corporate relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday-family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance rooted in real life in United States.
What This Site Represents (And Does Not)
This site IS:
- Practical insights from living in United States
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something genuinely changes
This site ISN'T:
- Not an official tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in United States continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in New York or anywhere in United States, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Cheers,
Ava
